Onboarding UX · Updated weekly · 12 apps scored
Every app is evaluated the same way — so scores are directly comparable across the category.
Every voter answers two gate questions before scoring: how familiar they are with the app (from "never heard of it" to "use it regularly") and what their experience has been (from "never used it" to "use it and love it"). Scores are then cut by age, gender, country, and weekly discretionary budget — any segment with fewer than 30 voters is withheld to avoid noisy reads.
FOLIO produces a consistent 90-second walkthrough of each app's onboarding flow. All ratings are comparable because all users see the same format.
Trust, clarity, friction, and likelihood to complete. Each dimension is scored on Perceived Consensus (PC) and Personal Preference (PP) — 1 to 5 on each signal. The most-voted PC and the most-voted PP are summed for a single integer score per dimension. Ties are broken by (1) higher total vote count, then (2) higher votes from self-identified users of the app.
